Daniel Frazier was born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1973. Before Daniel was a year old, his family moved to the rural town of Paintsville in the eastern region of the state. Raised in Paintville with his two brothers, Daniel's love of comic books and motion pictures led him to create homemade comics with his school friends and mini-motion pictures (often using his younger brother and his friends as talent). More and more, Daniel found himself behind the lens telling everyone else what to do rather than acting in front of the camera. In 1990, Daniel saw the motion picture Darkman. Fascinated with the hyper-active camera work and comic book style of the film, he decided he wanted to become a film director. After graduating high school, Daniel spent the summer shooting a short horror film called Twice Bitten, Once Shy about a vampire seeking a cure. Later, he attended Northern Kentucky University and helped develop the college comedy show "Tabloid TV." After graduation, Daniel would find work in local television stations and video production companies. In 1999, he and many of his friends from NKU banded together to create and produce his first feature-length film Avenging Disco Vampires (2001). After this production, Daniel started his own video production company Foster Layne Video. In 2020, he co-authored a middle-grade fantasy novel, Princess Rose and the Quest of the Golden Gown, with his wife, Jennifer.
