Alex Simmons

Alex Simmons is an award-winning director, producer and journalist. Simmons recently wrote, edited, and directed his first narrative feature film, Buddymoon, starring David Giuntoli and Flula Borg. Buddymoon won the Audience Award at Slamdance, the Florida Film Festival, and the Las Vegas Film Festival before being picked up for theatrical distribution by MGM (Orion Pictures). Simmons is the co-founder of Muck Media and has directed documentaries for Apple, National Geographic, CBS News, Discovery, and Al Jazeera. His non-fiction work has been nominated for an Emmy Award and the Livingston Award for Young Journalists, and he is the recipient of an Overseas Press Club Award. Simmons has also produced and directed numerous music documentaries and concert films, working with artists such as Sigur Rós, Common, Death Cab For Cutie, Mos Def and The Decemberists.
