As a lecturer, Thomas Delapa has been on faculty at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and Detroit's College for Creative Studies, teaching film and visual studies undergraduate courses. He's also developed and taught film and media studies courses, both classroom and online, at other U.S. universities and colleges including the University of Colorado at Boulder, Denver University, Regis University (Denver), Nevada State College, and the Colorado Film School (Denver). From 1998 to 2008, he was Film Curator at the Denver Art Museum, programming, managing, and hosting a popular series of classic and contemporary films, including on 35mm. In 2005 it was voted "Best Special Film Festival" by the Denver Rocky Mountain News daily. From 2001-2003, he was guest curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art-Denver, programming and hosting a series of avant-garde films and documentaries, voted "Best Art Films" by Westword/Village Voice Media in 2002. From 2011-2014 he was acting film curator at Denver's Historic Elitch Gardens Theatre, the oldest "summer stock" theater in the U.S, where he programmed and co-hosted a summer series of classic Hollywood films. He has has also regularly written on film, drama, and TV for such U.S. print and Web publications as the Chicago Tribune, the Journal of Film & Video, Cineaste, Alternet.org, The Conversation, Pulitzer/Lerner newspapers (Chicago), and Village Voice Media's Westword weekly (Denver). He was film critic and associate editor for the alternative/independent Boulder Weekly (CO) newspaper from 1993-2007. His film reviews have been quoted in numerous publications and on websites, including Rotten Tomatoes, AltWeeklies, the New York Public Library, the Daily Beast, Wikipedia, Hong Kong Daily, as well as in the UK anthology "Named and Shamed: The World's Worst and Wittiest Movie Reviews." His two M.A. degrees are from New York University/Tisch School of the Arts (Cinema Studies) and the University of Chicago (Social Sciences). His B.A. is in Liberal Arts from the University of Colorado.
