J. David Baker was born Jonathan David Baker in 1973 in Bellflower, California. In 1980, his parents became key leaders in their church's children's ministry, and he immediately began working with them as an actor and puppeteer. As a child, his love for computers was only surpassed by his love for filmmaking. In 1989 he began working for Casey Treat's television department at Christian Faith Center in Seattle, Washington. In 1993 he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to work in the television department of Willie George Ministries, known world-wide for its impact on children's ministry. Baker was married in 1994, and he and his wife, Tanya, immediately began ministering to children under the leadership of Willie George. While working at Willie George Ministries, he worked his way from being the editor of the "Bill Gunter, U.S. Marshall" western series to becoming the Post Production Supervisor and Visual Effects Supervisor on the acclaimed children's church video curriculum, The Zion 7 Report. In 1997 while at Willie George Ministries, he started Catalyst Productions. Through this venue, he has done work for a wide range of clients, from Paula White to Impact Productions to Disney. In 2006 he completed his first feature film, "RSTC: Reserve Spy Training Corps," an exciting spy thriller for the Christian family, featuring over 200 visual effects shots created by Baker himself. Also in 2006 he published a book of puppet skits entitled "How to be Wicked and Eaten By Dogs," featuring puppet skits he has performed in his more than 25 years of working in children's ministry. J. David Baker currently resides in Norman, Oklahoma, with his wife, Tanya. He continues to work for Willie George Ministries, and keeps busy with Catalyst Productions as well.
