She is one of the entertainment industry's, hardest working, female producers. Michelle Blaine was born to legendary drummer, Hal Blaine, founder of the infamous Wrecking Crew, on November 24th, 1964. Ms. Blaine grew up in the Los Angeles music scene, traveling with her dad around the world to various exotic locations and studios. As a child, she liked to play with her father's drums but found more passion in the sound booth of Goldstar, Bell and Western Sound Studios. She was more at home on the sound stages of Warner Brothers than behind a drum kit. She has a Bachelor's degree in Motion Picture and Television Communications and her Master's in Media Studies. Her first credited job was on a Coca Cola commercial for family friend and director Joseph Hanwright, in which she served as a production assistant. But, as with any family business, one helps out where one can. In 2004 she executive produced and directed her father's 'farewell' clinic in Northern California. She is the recipient of the prestigious VIFFI President's Award in 2006 for her short film Stop (2005). Michelle continues to write, create and produce for television and film. Her current projects include a feature drama co-written with Richard Whitley of Rock and Roll High School fame and feature length romantic comedy, and a television series. Blaine is married to film composer Andrew Johnson.
