Kurt Brian Finney was born in Fountain Valley, CA on October 23. His mother, Kathleen Finney, works as a real estate agent and day trades for the stock market. His father, Gary Finney, selflessly works as a firefighter, and has done so for more than 30 years. Kurt has a younger brother named Kyle who is on his way to becoming a lawyer. Following in his father's footsteps, Kurt enrolled in Santa Ana College's Fire Science Technology program and spent two years training to be a firefighter. However, when it came time to earn his certificate, he opted out and returned home to enroll in the local college. Unsure of what he wanted to study, he blindly pointed his finger at the school's course catalog. His finger landed on Introduction to Theatre. It turned out to be a fortuitous choice. As part of the course's final assignment, the students were asked to audition for a play in the community. Though he never expected to be asked to participate in a production, Kurt's charisma and natural ability casually landed him the role of Romeo in "Romeo and Juliet." The casting choice came as a surprise, but it was a welcomed one, and Kurt fell in love with the business of entertaining. The role quickly garnered him attention in the community and he went on to earn his comedic stripes, starring as Brian Runnicles in the British farce "No Sex Please We're British." His portrayal won him a Bobbi Award for Best Actor in a Comedy, and propelled him to pick up and move to Los Angeles. The move proved to be a great one. Since settling in Los Angeles, he has continued his acting success by starring in multiple short and feature films. His love for entertaining and creativity has forced him to expand his talents into other areas of the industry. The comedic short Slickback (2011), in which he also wrote, marks his directorial debut. He is forever hard at work producing, directing, writing, and acting at the helm of a few production companies.
