Katie's love for and talent in acting became clear as she neared the end of high school, when she received accolades for her performance in a Shakespeare competition at the Folger Library and while competing at the regional and national levels in the National Forensic League. She then went on to pursue her BA in theatre from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Upon graduating college, Katie received two awards from the William & Mary Theatre Department: one for Outstanding Actress in a Mainstage Production for her portrayal of Desiree Armfeldt in "A Little Night Music" and the other, the Martin Jurow Theatre Arts Award for Theatrical Excellence. She spent the summer after graduation as an Acting intern for the Virginia Shakespeare Festival, where she portrayed Anne Boleyn in "The Life of King Henry VIII". Before deciding to pursue acting as a profession, Katie worked full time for various contractors to the US Agency for International Development in Washington, DC, during which time she specialized in federal contracts management and compliance. During those years she continued to act in various musicals, comedies, and straight plays in the DC community theatre circuit. Katie's foray into film and commercials began in 2013 while she was living in South Florida.
