Elaine Hume Peake was born on Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) - the United States Army bomb disposal military base - where her father Edward Hume learned the fundamentals of BD. Those beginnings set the stage for the origins of "The Kaboom Boys" - the World War II drama of a BD captain and his squad of misfits who fight death defying odds and become accidental heroes. Elaine studied journalism at Towson State University and went onto a multi-year career in T.V. news in Miami and New York. As a content provider Elaine established strong ties with her audiences across multiple platforms in broadcasting, film, and social media. As Senior Executive Producer at WABC TV Elaine received the George Foster Peabody award for her 9/11 coverage and won numerous Emmys for live and highly-rated news events including the "Eyewitness to a Storm" weather franchise, the annual "Tree Lighting at Lincoln Center", coverage of the deaths of Princess Di/Pope Paul II/JFK, Jr., "A Night at the Big Apple Circus" and "America's Sail '98". Working in international, national and local news Elaine accurately and quickly assesses news relevance, delivering it effectively across all media and social media platforms. Having worked in multiple markets and relocating to multiple cities Elaine's a comfortable traveler and counts Cuba as one of favorite countries and assignments. Elaine completed "The Kaboom Boys", a feature length screenplay which is generating a tremendous buzz across the industry. She served on the board of directors of the Tennessee Women in Film and Media and is working on two multiple episode TV offerings and another a feature length screenplay. Elaine now lives in Franklin, Tennessee where she writes and creates content for Hedgerow Productions, LLC.
