Nadia Ahern was born Nadia Sulaiman (NOT the "OctoMom") in Detroit, MI but was raised across the river in Windsor, Ontario Canada. A dual US and Canadian citizen, Nadia is the oldest of three sisters to an American-born homemaker mom from Michigan's "U.P."(Upper Peninsula) and naturalized Canadian automotive worker father from Amman, Jordan. Her heritage is an eclectic mix of Middle Eastern, Finnish, French Canadian, and Irish-although her 23 and Me results would have her DNA scattered all over Europe, Asia and Northern Africa! So, she truly spans the ethnic spectrum, both in her genetics and in the roles she plays-both foreign and domestic! She has been acting and singing since the age of 4 and was the first graduating class from the former Windsor Center for Creative Arts-where she was the inaugural winner of their achievement award for excellence in Drama and Music. An alumna of the University of Windsor's BFA theatre program, Nadia immediately began her professional career upon after graduation at The Second City in Detroit, both as a member of their Tour Company and joined the Mainstage Company for the revue "White Water Rafting"-where she also met her husband, warm-up comedian/actor Jeff Ahern. She continued her training in Chicago as a chosen participant in Uta Hagen's Master Class at the Piven Theatre workshop, where she also studied. A fixture with the New Tuners new Musicals festival and regularly in commercials and voice over, Nadia gave up the cold winters of The Windy City for Los Angeles. She continues to work as a member of SAG-AFTRA and Actor's Equity in stage, in front of the camera, as a session singer and in the booth as a voice over talent. She is a recent recipient of the 2018 SOVAS Voice Arts Award, appeared with Keala Settle in an unforgettable performance of the nominated song THIS IS ME on the 90th Academy Awards broadcast, and is the voice for AcuraInfoCenter.com. With a classically trained Mezzo Soprano voice that is 3 octaves long, Nadia's smokey and powerful vocals have been heard in Cabarets all over North America, as a member of the Los Robles Master Chorale under the Artistic Direction of Lesley Leighton and is part of the Original Cast Recording of the Off-Off Broadway Award winning musical BUKOWSICAL! Nadia still loves the Chicago Cubs, the Montreal Canadiens, Italian Beef and Poutine-but much prefers the sunshine and her backyard garden in Los Angeles, where she resides with her husband and her (ONE and only) son.
