Spencer Gray - Born in Dallas and raised in Texarkana, Spencer Gray had always envisioned that he would write and direct original, subversive, thought-provoking films. After nearly 15 years in broadcasting, Gray got his feet wet in film and television as an associate producer, FX artist and assistant director. He cut his teeth on commercial shoots such as Pepsi and the hit show Walker Texas Ranger. In the off season, he produced and directed local theater and independent film projects in Texas. In 2003 Gray co-wrote the slasher film Job (as in the biblical book of), which began a long journey into his true calling. In the following years he worked on the Special FX crew of many horror films, including William Butler's supernatural thriller Furnace starring Ja Rule, Danny Trejo, Tom Sizemore, and Michael Pare. He also has a small role in the film. Immediately following Furnace, Spencer wrote and directed a segment of The Sick starring Eileen Dietz (The Exorcist), his first feature. He has a lead role as the deranged villain in the film A Thousand Words as well, but insists he would rather be behind the camera and create savage art. Most recently his award winning film Snake with a Human Tail has been burning up the horror conventions, film festival circuits and has been the center of heavy praise and controversy. In the meantime he has published the contentious book The Misfit Words, quickly becoming a cult favorite, and is in talks developing his next two features Strait Jacket Romance, The Border and a comic book series with Graphic Artist Chris Young.
