Jennie is an award-winning Asian-British film writer/director and video games narrative writer. Born in Hong Kong, she was raised in Cheshire, England (birthplace of Lewis Carroll) where she spent her youth chasing tales of the fantastic. Her body of work has primarily centred around outlier characters whose journeys are brought to life through tales of magical realism, dystopia, hope and compassion. Most recently, Jennie has written 'Desta: The Memories Between' for Netflix / ustwo Games, and 'Sacred Fire' for Iceberg Interactive / Poetic Studio. In 2019, she wrote 'Sky: Children of the Light' for thatgamecompany, which has won multiple honours spanning SXSW Awards, Webby Awards, Apple Awards, Google Awards, Game Developers' Choice, NYX Game Awards, among others. Announced by Variety Magazine, Jennie directed a digital docu series called 'The Game Makers' which chronicled 15 game luminaries and initially premiered at DICE before streaming on Cinedigm and Comcast VOD. She has directed action-music shorts for 'Stan Lee's World of Heroes' digital network that have won accolades at multiple Comic-Con events. Jennie has written and directed fantasy/drama short films 'Made By Maggie' and 'The Resolution,' which have screened at Miami Short Film, HollyShorts, Female Eye Film, Short Cuts Cologne, NewFilmmakers Festivals, amongst other global festivals. Jennie started her Film/TV career assisting film directors on productions for Netflix, HULU and Amazon. She is an alumni of the Women In Film Mentorship Program (LA), and recipient of the Institute of Contemporary Arts Mentorship (London). She has studied in the UCLA Screenwriting and USC Directing Intensive postgraduate programs. She resides in California.
