J.R. Cox

J.R. Cox grew up in the small oil town of Nikiski, Alaska where he fostered both a love of the arts and hard work. Performing in dozens of productions in high school and community theater as well as some rare local radio and television opportunities while working at his hometown oil refinery helped to strengthen not only his work ethic and talent, but enrich his passion for acting. Seeking to further his education in the field, he left Alaska to attend Film School at Montana State University, Bozeman. There, he acted in more award winning theater productions and added several film credits to his resume before graduating in 2010 with High Honors with a Bachelor of Arts. He then moved to Los Angeles to gain more professional experience working on all varieties of sets from student shorts to multi-million dollar films and television series. His diverse credits in this time include positions ranging from set intern, to sound mixer, to grip and, of course, actor. All the while J.R. practiced writing to expand his understanding of the craft. After producing and directing a few of his own short films he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2014 to focus and foster his acting career. He signed with an agent there, and met success as an actor, voice over artist and radio personality. J.R. Cox maintains a deep determination to expand his abilities as an actor and explore the breadth of his potential by working on as many projects as he can find.
