Carlos M. Jimenez

Carlos M. Jimenez is an LA-based Cinematographer who received his Bachelor of Arts degree from his hometown Columbia College Chicago in 2005. There he specialized in cinematography and lighting. Carlos's infatuation with films began while serving as a US Marine and working part-time at a local movie theatre in Oceanside Ca. The movie theatre served as an escape from military life and helped shape his decision to pursue filmmaking. Paving his way through the ranks Carlos had worked his way up to Gaffer and had become a member of Local 728, Hollywood Studio Electrical Lighting Technicians. Here he Gaffed a multitude of short films, music videos, commercials, and feature-length films. Eventually, he transitioned into Cinematography where he began shooting small commercials, award-winning short and feature-length films. In 2015, Carlos won Best Cinematography at the Action on Film Film Festival in Pasadena Ca for a short entitled The Muse. In 2018, Carlos also won the Jury Prize for Best Cinematography for Narrative Feature at the Oil Valley Film Festival and Festigous International Film Festival. In 2020, Carlos will be joining Local 600, International Cinematographer's Guild
