Trade association executive director who managed successful campaigns to increase the size and scope of Oregon's film industry. McFadden organized Oregon's film and television industry's successful effort to increase production recruited to Oregon from $40 million per year (2007) to $160 million per year (2015), and passed into law the Indigenous Oregon Production Incentive Fund (I-OPIF), allowing Oregon low-budget filmmakers, post-production houses and video game producers to receive state incentive dollars. As of January 2019, that fund supported more than $8.5 million of projects made by Oregon indie producers to date. McFadden produced a three-year conference series on financing, distributing and marketing independent media projects (NW Film Finance), and developed the e-commerce website SourceOregon.com, allowing media production projects to connect with qualified local professionals. McFadden produced one season of the 1996-music television program "Insomnia" at Impromptu Entertainment, rating 11% share of the Portland market. "Insomnia" was one of the very first television programs in America to utilize broadcast-quality and hand-held digital video, thanks to director Brett Eichenberg. Insomnia launched into syndication in local markets on various stations in the U.S., and in Canada on Outdoor Life Network (OLN). McFadden has worked as independent producer, line producer and business developer on a variety of projects, and ran the Oregon offices of The Rocket Magazine from 1993-1996. Tom McFadden writes, performs and directs music in Portland, Oregon.
