Winner of the the ADIFF Discovery award 2016 and the Bingham Ray New Talent award 2015, Kathryn Kennedy is an Irish Producer, and a member of ACE. Established in December 2012 Kennedy Films achieved international attention through short film JUST SAYING which went viral, achieving half a million hits online. Kennedy Films first feature film MY NAME IS EMILY (2015) is with writer/director Simon Fitzmaurice, producing together with Newgrange Pictures. The film achieved an Irish record-breaking crowd funding campaign in 2013, raising EUR120,000 in 30 days. MY NAME IS EMILY is a world-first for film making as the Director Simon Fitzmaurice is completely physically incapacitated with Motor Neuron Disease (ALS). Simon wrote and directed the entire film solely with his eyes and Tobii eye gaze technology. MY NAME IS EMILY is a teenage love story and a road movie, it was the opening film at the Galway Film Fleadh 2015, winning Best Cinematography for DoP Seamus Deasy and winning the Bingham Ray New Talent Award 2015 for producer Kathryn Kennedy at the festival. MY NAME IS EMILY had its North American Premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival 2015. Most recently the film screened at the Audi Dublin International Film Festival 2016 where Producer Kathryn Kennedy won the ADIFF Discovery award. Kennedy Films first feature documentary ITS NOT YET DARK, narrated by Colin Farrell and directed by Frankie Fenton, producing together with Newgrange Pictures, won Best Documentary at the Galway Film Fleadh 2016 and Best Cinematography. Kennedy Films are developing two further fiction features in conjunction with the Irish Film Board 'In Future' with writer Kevin Lehane, and 'The Indecents' with writer David Turpin. Kennedy are also financing two feature documentaries 'The Good Reactor' and 'White Flag' with Director Frankie Fenton.
