Femi Odugbemi is a writer, filmmaker and TV Content Producer. A voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the United States, Femi is also a Fellow of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP). He has previously been a 3-time Head Judge of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards AMVCA(2012-2014), Head of Jury of the Uganda Film Festival (2014-2016), Juror for the British Council "Shakespeare Lives" project (2016), Juror for the Emmy Awards in New York (2012&2016) and many others. He is Co-Founder/Executive Director of the popular i-Represent International Documentary Film Festival Lagos and a former President of the Independent Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN 2002-2006). His creative works in film celebrate the rich diversity of the African experience. He is one of the Founding Producers of the popular MNET daily soap-opera "Tinsel." Currently he is Executive Producer of the popular TV series Battleground which airs on the DSTV channels across sub-Saharan Africa. His feature film credits include "Maroko" ((2006), "Gidi Blues" (2016), "The eve" (2017), "4thEstate" (2017), and many documentaries. His work has been selected for international screenings at festivals in New York, United Kingdom, Uganda, Ghana, Paris and Germany. Femi has featured as a speaker/contributor in several international film/art/culture conferences and served on many international juries including the Emmy Awards in New York. In November 2013 he received the prestigious Excellence Award of the Society of the Performing Arts of Nigeria (SPAN). He received in the same month the 'Distinguished Leadership' award of Nollywood@20 years. He was recently appointed the Academy Director (West Africa) for the Multichoice Talent Factory.
