Date of birth : 12/05/1985
City of birth : Staunton, Virginia, USA

Whitney McCauley was born in Staunton, Virginia, to a single mother who worked in broadcasting. She placed her daughter in pageants at an early age, which gave her first taste of being on the stage and in front of the camera. At the age of 5, her mother married her high school sweet heart, a veteran, who moved the family to Anchorage, Alaska, where he was previously stationed. Being introduced to basketball that same year in what started as fun, Whitney seemed to really thrive and excel in the sport. This love for the game and her academic astuteness would ultimately pay off for her. At 11 she was an Elk's National 3 Point & Free Throw Hoop Shoot Finalist, and by 14 she was already receiving interest from several Division-I college basketball programs. While competing at East Anchorage High School, Whitney was recruited by a number of schools including: USC, Princeton, Brown, Oregon St., Nebraska, as well as many others. Her junior year she committed to attend and play for the top 20 academic school in the country, Rice University in Houston, TX, from which she would graduate with her Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Medicine. While at Rice a family friend who was an agent came across a role that would be perfect for her and would ultimately become a life changing series regular role on the critically acclaimed television series "Friday Night Lights" on NBC directed by Peter Berg. Whitney played Sheila Williams, the older sister to Brian "Smash" Williams, played by Gaius Charles. Sheila is the tough-loving tom-boy older sister who tries to be the most responsible of the 3 Williams siblings. Whitney's long legs, model looks and athletic build, have also lead to several national commercials, as well as spokesmodel campaigns.
