Steve Taylor was born in Magnolia, Arkansas. After graduating college with a BA in Mass Communication, Steve found himself bouncing from one job to the next. In 1989, in a state of desperation, Steve applied for a teaching job with no expectations that his BA would qualify him for the job. As fate would have it, Steve got the job and started teaching a Radio Broadcasting program at a small vocational school in Camden, AR. It didn't take long for that program to morph into a Radio & Television Program that focused on getting students out in the real world working on real projects for real clients. Working outside the bounds of a classroom opened doors in many areas, one of them the film industry, particularly in Louisiana. Starting from scratch, Steve worked on jobs himself and with students to learn the ins and outs of the industry. In 2003 Steve began teaching at Southern Arkansas University Tech. The program has exploded into one of the most prominent film and television training programs in the country. He leads a group fondly known as The Alien Nation whose members work across the country in all areas of television and film production. Steve is an IATSE member (Local 204) and in addition to teaching, is a producer, director and trainer for companies and educational institutions all over America.
