Greek actor and tenor, born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt. Studied music and opera in Italy. In the 1940's he was a leading tenor of the Staatsoper Berlin, Vienna and other principal European Musical Centers. He was a former leading dramatic tenor of the New York City Opera and also sang at Carnegie Hall. He was world renown during WWII but during the bombing of Berlin he was forced to flee Germany and move to Paris, France where he helped the French underground. In his final years, he was an executive producer for the Voice of America.
