Caroline Wilson is the chief football writer for the Melbourne newspaper The Age (2008), a position she has held since 1999. A winner of multiple Australian Football Media Association awards, Wilson was the first woman to cover Australian Rules football on a full-time basis. Apart from her print media work she has appeared on numerous panels type television shows on Australian Football. The nature of some of Wilsons newspaper articles as well as her focus on mainly off-field matters has led to her being a controversial figure amongst the fans of the AFL competition, particularly supporters of North Melbourne and West Coast football clubs. Wilson currently (2008) stars on Channel 9 Australia's Footy Classified on Monday nights during the AFL (Australian Football League) season.
