Farzad Samsami (b. 1980 in Tehran) Is a Norwegian / Iranian director based in Oslo / Norway. He has filmed several of his short films in Morocco. His first short film, FOAD (2014) was shown at several international festivals, among them Clermont Ferrand and Palm Springs Shortsfest. At Palm Springs, FOAD won the Bridging The Borders Award, Best International Short Film 2014. He followed up by making two new short films MY FATHER (2018) and DOAH (2020). DOAH had its world premiere at Clermont Ferrand 2020 and screened at countless festivals. DOAH won Audience Award for Best Short Film at the Amnesty International Festival Au Cinéma pour les Droits Humains 2021. In 2019, Samsami received production grant from the Norwegian film institute for a new short film CHACHIMO(post-production) this is the first Norwegian film with Romanes as the main language and with Norwegian/Romain the lead role.
