Trained in piano, guitar, composition and orchestration, Xavi Font is a composer and music supervisor for films and TV. From 1986 to 2002, he was a member of several pop and electronic bands as a composer, bassist, pianist, and guitarist. In 2001, he began his professional activity in the audiovisual field by composing film scores. He is known for his work in 'Hierro', 'Gun City' and many others, including 'The Apostle', where he collaborated with Philip Glass. Currently, he works with national and international film production companies as a composer and music consultant, getting involved from the initial development. He was also film producer in the praised 'Fire will come' by Oliver Laxe where also appeared as music supervisor and additional music composer. Member of the European Film Academy, Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences and the Academia Galega do Audiovisual, where is part of the Board of Directors. Awards He was nominated to the XXIV Goya Awards, in 'Best Original Song' category for 'Agallas'. He was awarded 3 times with the 'Mestre Mateo' in the 'Best Original Music' category for 'Hierro', 'Gun City' & 'The Apóstolo'. Recently was nominated to the XXXIII Goya Prizes, International Film Music Critics Association and CEC Awards together with Manuel Riveiro, in 'Best Original Music' category for 'Gun City'. In 2020 was awarded for his work in the acclaimed TV Series 'Hierro' together with Elba Fernández.
