A Michigan native, Brett Rigby is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre Performance. Upon earning his degree, Brett moved to New York City where he was an actor and performer for over a decade. In 2009, Brett returned to the academic world and received his Master of Music Degree from New York University's distinguished Steinhardt School with an Advanced Certification in Vocal Pedagogy. A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the Voice Foundation, and the New York Singing Teachers, Brett has served as Adjunct Voice Faculty at NYU for over seven years and is an advisor for Broadway Artists Alliance. With an emphasis on musical theatre and pop-rock vocalisms, his progressive voice studio consists of both students and professionals. Brett joined the talent agency of Carlton, Goddard, & Freer Talent in 2013 and is franchised Talent Agent in association with the firm's three founding partners, representing actors on Broadway, in film and television, and stages across the country. For the last four years, Brett has taught NYU Steinhardt's Business Skills courses for graduating seniors and second-year Master students, in addition to producing their annual industry showcase at New World Stages. This work connects emerging students to representation and helps to propel their career with the proper foundation through insight only possible with guidance from someone with such deeply grounded experience within the industry.
