Dean Hill, ASLA has over 15 years of experience in the landscape construction/home improvement profession and more than 10 years of high-end residential landscape design experience. He holds an undergraduate degree in Telecommnications and a Master of Landscape Architecture, both from Ball State University. Dean is the President and Principal Designer at Terratecture, a landscape architecture design studio specializing in the use of native plant material and the incorporation of contemporary sculpture in residential landscapes. He is a Full Member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and has served on various ASLA National Committees including the ASLA Policy Committee, Student Awards Jury, and the Annual Meeting Steering Committee. He is a past president of the Indiana Chapter (INASLA) and has served on the Executive Committee, Continuing Education Committee, Annual Meeting Committee, and the Annual Design Award Committee. In addition, he holds certification as a Master Gardener and is a certified Plantsman and Master Plantsman from the Indiana Nursery and Landscape Association. Dean has six seasons (72 episodes) of television experience as co-host/landscape designer/contractor for "Grounds For Improvement on the DIY Network/RIVR Media. He has also appeared on the local Indianapolis NBC affiliate, WTHR-TV, as the "Inside/Outside Guy". He provided tips and techniques for improving the inside and outside of viewer's homes during the Eyewitness News Sunrise, Weekend Sunrise, and Eyewitness News at Noon newscasts. Dean is also a co-author of Grounds For Improvement: 40 Great Landscaping and Gardening Projects published by Lark Books (2007).
