Composer/writer Ross Care grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and attended West Chester University. He later moved to California where he now resides in Ventura. Musically he has composed for concert, theater, and film. His first film score was for the documentary Otto Messmer and Felix the Cat (1977) _ . His theater work includes incidental scores and musicals based on Gibran's The Prophet and Lewis Carroll's Thought the Looking Glass. As a writer he is an authority on film music of the studio era and has written extensively on the subject for the Library of Congress and various film books and periodicals.
