Graham was born in Northampton, and went to Duston Upper School. He then joined the Army and spent 7 years with the 2nd bn The Royal Anglian Regt. Upon discharge he entered Nurse training and became a Registered Nurse. Later he rejoined the British Army as a Nursing Officer These two combined fields of knowledge led him, after some encouragement into TV and film work. Starting with extra work in various productions he moved into the sphere Latterly he has been a military medical historian/expert for the Yesterday TV series "Instruments of Death" demonstrating both Great War and Napoleonic military medicine. He was also featured on ITVs "Country House Weekends"
