Michael Patrick Breen is an actor, a prize winning Irish step and set dancer, choreographer, dialect coach and videographer. Michael was born in Edgeware General Hospital in Middlesex (N. W. London), England. He lived in Harrow, Middlesex until the age of 16, when he moved to the west of Ireland. He lived in the beautiful village of Derradda, near the picturesque seaside town of Newport, in County Mayo (the ancestral home of his maternal grandmother, Nora Duffy Tresnan). In 1989 Michael moved to Southern Calfiornia. He worked for a finance company for 16 years before taking up acting. Michael returned to Ireland in June 2012. Michael founded The Los Angeles Irish Set Dancers in July, 2000. The group has performed all over California and in Ireland, and has been featured on television and in newspaper and magazine articles. Michael is a prize winning Irish step and set dancer. He has won four North American National titles for Irish / Ceili team dancing. He has served as choreographer for a number of stage productions in Hollywood, Burbank and at the Long Beach Playhouse. His father Senan "Synie" Breen (b. 17-12-1934 d. 06-11-13) was born in Kilnamona, near Ennis in County Clare, Ireland (both paternal grandparents were from County Clare). His mother Cecilia "Cecily" Tresnan Breen (b. 19-07-1939 d. 02-07-2012) was born in the City of London. Her parents were from Counties Sligo and Mayo in the west of Ireland. Michael attended Alpha Preparatory School in Harrow and Salvatorian College in Harrow Weald.
