Gerardo received a BA in Film Scoring and Music Composition at the Berklee College of Music and a Master of Music in Composition from Yale. At Yale, Gerardo was a student of Ezra Laderman and Joseph Schwantner. Gerardo also graduated with honors from the Boston University School of Law and practiced law as a derivatives attorney for several years before returning to his original passion for music. Gerardo lives in Los Angeles, where he is an active film composer; orchestrator and music producer.
