Albany was born in the coastal town of Moruya, Australia. She has worked in the film and television industry since 1999 with vocations in performance, PR, camera operating, production management, writing, producing and directing. Upon completing high school, she turned down a business scholarship to embark on the entertainment world. She was dancing professionally from the age of 18 in contemporary and high NRG dance. At the age of 20, she featured in her first feature film, 'Dirty Deeds', as the Senator's mistress alongside Sam Worthington, Sam Neill, Toni Collette, Bryan Brown and John Goodman. From here she studied at the Actors College of Theatre and Television, in addition to studying bachelor degrees in media communications and business, as well as post-graduate degrees in astronomy and astrophysics. As a theatre actress, Albany has performed at many of the top Australian theatre venues including The Sydney Theatre Company, NIDA, TAP Gallery and The Seymour Centre. Her most memorable roles include Gloria in '10,000 Cigarettes', as Michelle in 'The Boys', Inga in '2 Weddings and a Lawyer', and five eclectic roles in the hilarious 'Girlfriend #33 Stole my Mojo'.
