Perry Jackson

Born in LA, Perry was interested in acting as a child. However, due to the guidance of his parents, he went to college instead, attending the University of Pennsylvania, where he walked on to the football team, joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and also the Black Student League. After freshman year, he left the team in order to pursue theater. He performed in a multitude of plays, both classic and contemporary. Upon graduation, he applied for the Fulbright scholarship to the UK for Performing Arts. Though he was named as a finalist, he did not receive the coveted award. Graduating with a B.A. in Classics, he returned home to get his start in Hollywood, interning for a few production companies before deciding to pursue an MFA in acting. He received his training from the American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theatre School Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University. While there, he appeared in two main-stage productions, including Julius Caesar (which later toured in France) and the first-ever staging of Donnie Darko, as Frank the Rabbit. Upon graduation, he returned home once again to launch a film career. He attended LA City College part-time, receiving a certificate in Cinema Production, while auditioning for acting roles and also interning for various management companies. As a result of seeing more opportunities for content creators than ever before, he officially switched his main focus to screenwriting in 2014, and started his own production company, Prescription Entertainment. Most recently, he was named to the Most Staffable Writers List in the 2017 Harvardwood Alumni Group Writing Competition.
