Tim Rundel is an actor and documentary film producer/director. Tim received his BA in Speech and Drama from Northwestern Oklahoma State University where he gained valuable experience in radio/television production, theatre and other media communications. In 2012 Tim formed a company (MonkeyKing Productions) and his first project, "Thanks of the Buggy Ride" was a short film about a retired truck driver that was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. The film was screened at the Bare Bones film festival in 2014. In 2015, Rundel partnered with legendary documentary film director Bradley Beesley (Okie Noodling, The Fearless Freaks, The Sweethearts of the Prison Rodeo and several other docs). Tim was an Executive Producer for the short doc, "Calls to Okies: The Park Grubbs Story". The short doc was about a group of disenfranchised Oklahoma teenagers early 1980's who mastered the art of prank phone calls and became known as Park Grubbs. The short doc was screened and premiered at South by Southwest (where only 106 short films were selected out of nearly 8,000 submissions), San Francisco Doc Fest, the deadCenter Film Festival and many others. In 2016 Rundel produced and directed a short documentary, "Brother Valentine". The doc explores an Oklahoma family that is ripped apart after their 15-year-old son brutally murders his older sister in 1974. Controversy swirls around the case after his parents decide to hire a prominent defense attorney to keep their son out of jail. "Brother Valentine" was screened at film festivals in Hollywood, Belgium, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Kansas, Utah and several other festivals in his home state of Oklahoma. Rundel's documentary won Best Short Documentary at the Sacramento Film and Music Festival, Twister Alley Film Fest, was named best Oklahoma Documentary at the Red Dirt Film Fest in 2017. Brother Valentine was recently picked up by a distributor and is now available on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. Tim is shopping an adaptation screenplay of his documentary Brother Valentine.
