Jen Fineran is best known for her intimate, non-fiction storytelling. She received an "Outstanding Editing" Emmy nomination for her work on Alison Klayman's feature documentary "Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry" (IFC Films) which won numerous awards including a Sundance Special Jury Prize. Jen directed the documentary short "The Invisible World" featuring the painter Mark Weiss. She also edited and produced the 2015 Academy-award winning student documentary "I Married my Family's Killer", directed by Emily Kassie. Jen grew up in Cheverly, MD (PG County). After completing her undergraduate studies in sociology and political science at Emory University, Jen spent a chunk of time exploring the world & playing pickup soccer, from Kinshasa, Zaire to Lijang, China. Jen worked at Channel 4 in London, returned to the U.S. to earn an MA in Film Studies from Emory University, then cut her first feature, the hilarious road comedy "Waste", while living in Brisbane, Australia. Jen is a member of the Motion Pictures Editors Guild and lives in Nyack, New York, with her family.
