Linda Mutawi is a film producer, based in Stockholm with a leg in Jordan and the UAE. While studying for her BA at London Guildhall University she simultaneously worked in an Arab news station based in London called ANN. After graduating with a BA in Communications and Audio Visual Production Studies, Linda moved to Dubai in 2000 where she started working in the film industry. She joined Filmworks- one of the most established production companies in the region- and was there for 6 years. During this time her experience ranged from working on two major Hollywood films, to producing current affairs documentaries, as well as producing commercials, TV, and even coverage of the Dubai Film Festival. In 2006 Linda got her chance to be in front of the camera by playing the lead role in the Australian Docu-Fiction "Forbidden Lie$" based on the best-selling controversial book "Forbidden Love", which was filmed in Australia and Jordan. After 15 years abroad Linda moved back to Jordan in 2009 to join The Royal Film Commission- Jordan, as head of their Production Services Department. In her three years working for the RFC, Linda represented and marketed Jordan as a filmmaking destination, as well as being the focal point for any producer filming in Jordan. Moreover, as part of the RFC's Educational Feature Film program, Linda got the opportunity to produce a Jordanian feature film "Line of Sight" by director Aseel Mansour, the film was in competition at the Dubai International Film Festival. Additionally, Linda briefly served as the manager of the recently founded Jordan Film Fund for a few months. In 2012 Linda got selected as the Jordanian candidate to participate in the Producers Guild of America Diversity Workshop in Los Angeles with her project "Occupy Culture" which is in development and won a development grant from the Jordan Film Fund. A year later Linda found herself moving to Stockholm, however remained involved in various projects based in the Middle East. Since she's been living in Sweden, Linda has already been involved in several Swedish feature films as Line Producer, Executive Producer and Associate Producer. In 2015 Linda started her own production company Fikra and is she is currently producing 2 documentary projects, as well as writing & developing scripts. She has also served as a mentor for an EU funded cultural program examining minority rights in the Middle East.
