Ron Sizemore

Surfer Ron Sizemore was born in 1944 in Long Beach, California. Sizemore first started surfing at the age of ten and was a popular hotdog surfer at Laguna Beach in California. Ron began participating in surfing contests in 1958 and surprised everybody on the local Laguna Beach surf scene when he won the 1961 U.S. West Coast Surfing Championship event. Moreover, in 1966 Sizemore got drafted out of junior college into the United States army for the Vietnam war and served in the 9th Infantry Division in the Mekong Delta where he was still able to surf during his tour of duty.
