Sotiris Danezis

Sotiris Danezis is a documentary filmmaker, war correspondent and news anchor. Curently is the head of International News Desk at OPEN Beyond TV station in Greece. For over two decades, he explores and documents the world's most compelling stories, through documentary film, video and photography. He collaborates as Communications & Media Consultant with Greek and foreign companies and NGOs. As a documentary producer and war correspondent he has worked in more than 80 countries and in several of the world's top "hotspots" and areas marked by various crises: from isolated North Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia, to Falkland Islands, Haiti, Somalia, Sierra Leone, Congo, Rwanda, El Salvador, Colombia and the regions of the Amazon forest, the Sahara Desert and Alaska. He is the creator and presenter of two of the most popular Greek TV documentary series in Mega Channel (Greece): "War Zone" and "Orizontas". He has received the "Athanasios Botsis Foundation Award" - the highest distinction in the field of journalism in Greece.
