Alan Dunn was born in San Jose California and is the youngest of two children. Growing up he juggled school and sports and his love of drama. He was a three sport lettermen in high school and rode that wave all the way through college. He landed a baseball scholarship at Stanislaus State University. He played all four years and performed in several plays for the university drama department. Some of the roles that Alan played were Danny in "Grease", Cassio in "Othello" and Freddy Eynsford-Hill in "My Fair Lady". As Alan saw his professional athlete dream fizzle he saw his hopes in becoming an actor rise. He took a chance following his college graduation and packed up and moved to Hollywood. Picking up odd jobs any place he can find to pay for food, a place to sleep and acting classes, Alan got his break when he landed a recurring role on the USA soap opera "Port Charles" as Officer Reagen.
