Self-taught and versatile Anissa Daoud was born of a Tunisian father and a Franco-Italian mother. Initially an actress and author, then a producer and more recently a director, she navigates between theater and cinema carrying projects with strong political content. In theater, she works at the service of projects that often focus on transdisciplinarity, based more on essays than repertoire texts. In cinema, she has performed, among others, in ELLE ET LUI by Elyes Baccar, TRENTE by Fadhel Jaziri, LA NUIT EST LONGUE by the Syrian Hatem Ali and TENDER IS THE WOLF by Jilani Saadi, PRINTEMPS TUNISIEN by Raja Amari, BORDERS OF HEAVEN by Fares Naanaa, BURNING HOPE by Lotfi Achour which she co-wrote and produced, and BEAUTY AND THE DOGS by Kaouthar Ben Hania : movies for which she received several acting awards. Alongside her work as an actress, she co-founded the A.P.A.: ARTISTES PRODUCTEURS ASSOCIÉS and, this way, created a production tool that resembles her and placing an emphasis on the coherence between the artworks and their means of production. Within the A.P.A., she writes and produces several theater projects which have been performed in Paris, London, Tunis... In cinema and still within her work at the A.P.A, she produced, in addition to BURNING HOPE, the short films LAW OF THE LAMB, in Official Selection at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, THE REST IS WORK OF MAN and THE EAGLES OF CARTHAGE, respectively, in Official Selection at the 2016 and 2020 Venice Film Festival. As a producer, she is currently developing within her company three feature fiction films, including Lotfi Achour's second feature fiction film, RED PATH, and a feature creative documentary, BLIND SPOT, as well as several shorts. After multiple collaborations as artistic director, she debuted her career as a director with various documentaries, revolving around feminism, a subject close to her heart. In 2018, she co-directed for the Tunisian Factory of the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes Film Festival, the short film BEST DAY EVER with the Afghan director Aboozar Amini. THE BATH produced in 2020, is her second short fiction film as a director. While pursuing her career as an actress and producer, she is currently developing the script of her first feature fiction film.
