Débora Demestre was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She studied classical ballet from a very early age and continued dancing until the age of 15, when she moved to Toronto, Ontario. As a child she did a commercial, participated in various plays and danced on various stages, but the acting bug did not truly bite her until later on, when she decided as a young woman to attend student film castings 'just to try it out.' She enjoyed this experience so much that she took acting courses and got her first agent. She has been in short films like "Falling for Marsha," where she plays a mute and had to learn sign language, and has continued to work in commercials, features and television series.
