John Morning is an Award-winning storyteller and filmmaker. Hailing from New York and New Jersey, he is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where his student film TRUCKSTOP was granted the Wasserman Award, the top honor in recognition for outstanding achievement in film, and gaining further praise from Martin Scorcese and Warner Brothers. Upon graduation, he joined Industrial Light + Magic and later was a writer for Nickelodeon's BLUE'S CLUES. However, it was after 9/11 that John left the entertainment industry to enlist as a firefighter. For seven years, he served his community as a First Responder. From these experiences, he wrote the feature screenplay FIREMEN, which won the Austin Film Festival's Best Comedy Screenplay Award (under the working title WHAT WOULD FABIO DO?). Following this, he produced and directed the true crime documentary GONE: THE DISAPPEARANCE OF AERYN GILLERN which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, won Best Documentary Film at the Frameline San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Fesitval and sold to Discovery. Since then, John has established himself as a trusted writer-producer across several television genres for the most successful series in true crime, adventure, human interest, sports, and medical, for Discovery, TLC, Snapchat, A&E, and National Geographic. John lives in Los Angeles with his three children and their dog, Taco.
