Jim Oncken was born in Pittsburgh, PA. He grew up watching Red Skelton, Jack Benny and the cavalcade of comedians, ventriloquists, impressionists and singers on The Ed Sullivan Show. At an early age, Jim had an intuitive sense that he belonged in show business. Jim would listen to his older brother's comedy albums while reading Mad Magazine. Pivotal among those comedy albums was Vaughn Meader's "The First Family", which was a loving parody of the Kennedy White House. At the tender age of six, Jim nailed every voice and dialect on that record. Show business took a back seat for many years in Jim's life until, at the age of forty, he won "The Funniest Person in Pittsburgh" contest. Stand-up comedy and voice work followed.
