English footballer Les Shannon was born in Liverpool, on the 12th March 1926, where played over 250 games for Burnley Football Club during the 1950s and went onto a coaching and managerial career after starting his career at his home town club. Although he enjoyed mixed fortunes as a football manager, his knowledge of football was so highly valued that he worked with Pelé in coordinating the football sequences in Victory (1981). As well as assisting on the set of Escape to Victory, he was football adviser to the 1989 TV series The Manageress (1989).
