Kevin was proud to have been born in Brooklyn NY in 1956 to renowned lyricist/singer Laura Manning and band Leader Irwin Bernard Birnbaum. Though raised in NE New Jersey, he graduated H.S. in 1974 from North Miami Beach, FL, and then went to college at New Jersey University majoring in Communications and English. While in the NYC area, his graphic skills led to commissioned works for the NYC Ballet Company. While starting to write his first screenplays and teleplays in 1974, he learned the now defunct craft of paste-up, specking type, and print per-production allowing him to work at various periodical firms in FL and CA. He married Tami Abrams in Los Angeles, CA in 1982, (or maybe 1983?), had no children, and then left for Glendale, AZ in 1989. While in Glendale, he wrote/directed and co-produced his first feature, the cult supernatural western "Justice Be Damned" in 1993. It was shot in three weekends at the base of the famed haunted Superstition Mountains at the now demolished Apache land Movie ranch. In 1999 Kevin moved to Arizona's White Mountains and was part owner of a bed & breakfast resort in Lakeside, and then started a local TV news show called "The White Mountain News." He implemented the commercial leased access provisions of the 1996 Telecommunications Act and produced a half-hour, and then hourly, weekly news show which ran until 2006. The show won the "Business of the Year Award" from the Pinetop-Lakeside Chamber of Commerce in 2002 and Kevin also won the first "Arts Mentor of the Year Award" from the Arts Alliance of the White Mountains. The show was broadcast into 20,000 homes on Cable One based in Show Low, AZ. In 2002 he published "The Maverick Newspaper" as a weekly and then as a bi-weekly publication until its current incarnation as a full color monthly magazine. Kevin covered regular news stories and public events as well as writing investigative journalism pieces of the White Mountain region. "The Maverick" became an Associated Press affiliate and worked in tandem with the TV news show. While in Show Low in 2005, Kevin wrote/directed and edited his second feature, the politically hard hitting "Vegas Date" which was shot on the streets of Las Vegas for four days and nights. Kevin moved to Las Vegas in 2010 for a brief time where he started a multimedia production company called "The Media Maven," and then moved to Arlington TX in 2013 to marry his long time fiancee, Glenna Stanfield. He formed his Giati Productions LLC production company and produced the political science fiction classic, "Starwatch," featuring "El Mariachi" star Carlos Gallardo and European star Silvia Suvadova. He has also published a spy thriller called "White Horse" and has had varied screenplay options and always something in development. Kevin also has expertise in text marketing, web design and 3D animation.
