Born in Asti (Italy) in the Piedmont region, Giuseppe Varlotta created a studio dedicated to music, emotion, video, theatre and dance in his hometown. In 2003 he founded the Cultural Association Kabiria, that produces multimedia shows and films. In 2005 he founded with director Francesca Del Sette the artistic movement "Emozionismo" ("Emotionism"). Its manifesto is that only emotion can raise real passions into people. He experimented different Art languages from architecture to theatre, from design to multimedia, from video art to traditional cinema. In 2004 he directed the short "Nana';", starring the Italian world famous writer and director Mario Monicelli, for which he received the Italian Cinema Award Cinecitta' Holding at the Venice Film Festival 2005 and the Special Mention Award at MIFF 2005. He is also the director of music videos for Target Music. In 2008 he wrote, produced and directed "Zoe'", his first feature film, starring well known Italian singer Francesco Baccini in his first cinema acting performance and actors Serena Grandi and Bebo Storti. He is now working on his new project "Beyond The Mist", a meta-theatre story inspired by the historical of Frederick II, one of the most powerful Holy Roman Emperors of the Middle Ages and head of the House of Hohenstaufen, developing tight connections with a contemporary story of theatre, acting and human passions.
