His hometown is Ranchi, Jharkhand. He was a good Athlete in School and won events like the Long Jump, High Jump and Hop Skip & Jump through his School and College life. In School he often won Essay writing competitions, Quizzes, Elocutions, Drawings and Painting contests at the City levels. He was also a School Prefect. He was also very good in Sports. He excelled in Cricket and Tennis. He has played Tennis at State Level Championships. He was more likely inclined towards making a career in Sports. He has played Cricket for his School and at Club Levels as a Top-order batsman. After finishing his High School, at the age of 18, he joined the Act One Art Group in New Delhi, India, from where he started his Acting career. He went on to do Amateur and Professional Theatre. He trained under Mr. N.K. Sharma, an Eminent Theatre personality in India. To pursue a career in Acting, he moved to Mumbai in January, 2004. In the year 2007, he was Cast in a Supporting Role in a Short Film titled Rehmaan Sahab Ko Phone Karna Hai (2008) Directed by Sumeet Sachdev. The same year Loveleen Tandan was Casting for Slumdog Millionaire (2008). He got an Casting Call and Auditioned for Older Salim's part, the Lead Role in the Movie. He got Shortlisted, and his next round of Audition process was with Danny Boyle. Slumdog Millionaire (2008) became his debut Movie, which was also his first Movie Audition. He missed out on Older Salim's part because Danny Boyle went younger with the Lead Roles. A personal encounter with Lord Jesus in a Charismatic Retreat at Tabor, Kalyan in 2013, led him to a deep spiritual experience that completely transformed his life. It began a new spiritual life saturated with divine love and compassion in him. Soon people who knew him started seeking his spiritual guidance and counseling, which he gladly did. Then came invitations from Charismatic Retreats and Catholic Conferences in India, where he shared his spiritual experiences, insights on Catholic Spirituality, and how he juggles between the two worlds of spiritual discipleship while also continuing as an actor in the entertainment industry. His interests in reading are Catholic Theology, Faith, and Autobiographical non-fiction books. He loves to read and grow in knowledge and as a person.
