Born Sarah Johnson to Mitchell Johnson III and Carol Brightman Johnson, Sarah is the oldest of two girls. There were a number of Sarah's in her primary school class and Sarah became known as Sarah J, which quickly morphed into Sarah Jane, the relative for whom Sarah Jane is named. Showing an early interest in the arts and writing, Sarah Jane's parents nurtured these desires before she ultimately moved to Los Angles after graduating Emerson College. Sarah Jane attended a small regional public high school in Connecticut. A graduation requirement was to find a mentor in a field you wanted to study for a year, learn a skill and present a large-scale product. Sarah Jane found a mentor (and friend) in actress and author Lenka Peterson O'Connor. That senior year, Sarah Jane wrote, directed and produced a one act play for children and presented it to a sold-out house in April 1998. Sarah Jane's love of story hasn't waned and continues storytelling as a producer, screenwriter and author.
