Has performed her acclaimed solo show "Unaccustomed to My Name" Off-Broadway, across America and internationally since 2001. A founding ensemble member of the award-winning New York Neo-Futurists; original works produced at the Kraine Theatre, HERE Arts Center, and the Cherry Lane Theatre (New York City), and Trinity Rep (Providence) in Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind: 30 Plays in 60 Minutes. Published in "225 Plays" Anthology of New York Neo-Futurist plays (Hope and Nonthings Press, 2011). Other favorite New York/regional acting roles include Izzy (Rabbit Hole * Richmond Theatre Critics Circle Award, Best Supporting Actress), Ma Joad (Grapes of Wrath), Woman (Laughing Wild), Carol (Oleanna), Sylvia (Sylvia), Trinculo (The Tempest), and Sir Andrew Aguecheek (Twelfth Night). Past collaborators include Second City founder Paul Sills (NY premieres of Yeats: The Stories of Red Hanrahan, and Evening Clouds), and Moscow Art Theatre director Viacheslav Dolgachev (The Seagull, Classic Stage Company), and opera composer Elena Ruehr. Marta is a proud graduate of the New Actors Workshop, where she trained with Mike Nichols, George Morrison, and Paul Sills. Marta, also a published non-fiction writer, has taught acting and/or playwriting at New Actors Workshop, New York Film Academy, the New Voices for the Theatre Festival (Playwright-in-Residence 2010), and privately, as well as at her alma mater, Wellesley College.
