Nelson Louis Scott Jr. was born in Beverly Hills California at Cedar Sinai Hospital and raised in Baldwin Hills CA. Both of his parents were entrepreneurs. His late father, Nelson Louis Scott Sr. owned a chain of automobile repair shops and his mother, Veronica Ann Scott owned a clothing boutique. Nelson's mother is from the state of Alabama and his father is of Honduran heritage. Nelson grew up attending church regularly. That is where he discovered his love for performing. He sung his first solo at the age of 5 and brought the congregation to their feet. By the age of 16 he would go on to win 1st place at the famed Apollo Theatre. Nelson also played the drums, piano, and guitar virtually becoming a one man band. Due to his height and natural ability, Nelson spent most of his free time on the basketball court. He was 6'0 ft. by the age of 10 and reached 6'2 by the age of 13. At 12 years old, his family doctor told his parents he would grow to be 7'3, however that dream would not come true. Nelson has been his adult height of 6'2 1/2 since age 14. In 2010, while in his last year at UCLA, Nelson auditioned for and was offered the lead role in the pilot for the hit LOGO show "DTLA". Although it was a tough decision, he decided to finish school instead. To date, Nelson has had numerous guest starring roles on television shows such as "LA Forensics" and "Tattoo Nightmares" and in movies such as "Nina" directed by Cynthia Mort and "The Reason" directed by Meiko Taylor. Both films are due to be released in late 2015. In 2014, Nelson starred in a Super Bowl commercial that was officially sponsored by the NFL. Nelson is the younger brother of reality show star Saaphyri Windsor.
