Kathrin Cornelia Lang (née Hitzer) was born on 3 September 1986 in Balingen, West Germany is a former biathlete. She made her World Cup debut on 29 November 2006. During her career she won the 12,5 km pursuit and the 15 km mass start in Khanty-Mansyisk at the end of the 2007-2008 season. Kathrin was a member of the women's German national team until December 2011. She had to stop competing because of her pregnancy. However Hitzer didn't officially retire from biathlon. She was romantically involved with German teammate and 3 times Olympic champion from the 2006 Games in Turin, Michael Greis. Their relationship lasted from 2008 until 2010. From 2011 Kathrin Hitzer started dating another German teammate Toni Lang. The couple married in the summer 2012 and in July the same year welcomed their first child, a daughter named Lenia-Mary. Recovered from her pregnancy, Kathrin Hitzer was ready to return for the start of the 2012-2013 World Cup. After the end of 2013-2014 season when she didn't impress with a high performance, she announced her retirement.
