John Tomkins

I am a Director, Producer, Editor and Film Festival Director in Devon UK. My love of the film started after seeing the film The Rocketeer ( 1991), which inspired me to one day wanting to become a film Director. That ambition since 2012 has led to a full time career ( 2015) as an independent film Producer . I have Directing-Producing ambitious short films ( the latest 'Amor Y Vida"), documentaries ( working with local and national organizations), adverts and music videos ( the latest - Howard Jones - I Believe in you - Lyric video and Chesney Hawkes - The one and only Nik Kershaw 2022 Solidary Remix Music Video) . I have produced and help market films for other Directors ( including the 2017 feature film Scareycrows). In 2015 I instigated the first English Riviera Film Festival and have served as its Director over the following years, coordinating a team of volunteers and growing the Festival from a one day event into an International event attended by delegates from across the globe. The Festival, now in its eighth year, has as its highlight an annual award ceremony recognizing emerging film industry talent from around the world. The festival has shown over 200 films and hosted panels and film-related workshops with over 50 film industry professionals.
