James "Dash" Patterson is an American broadcast host and commentator, originally from Southern California. His childhood revolved around three things: acting, video-games, and running. He received his BFA degree in drama from NYU and later moved to Los Angeles, where his career with Riot Games began in 2014. He is the lead on-air host for the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) and annual World Championships. He also hosts notable events for Valorant, Age of Empires, and First Strike games. James is recognized for his ability to break down the game and wrangle the other talent on the desk, often bringing a sense of comedic timing and natural connection to talent in his work. He has been nominated multiple times for Esports Host of the Year and is notably one of the most respected voices in esports, previously working with major brands such as Mastercard and Puma.
